All natural fibers carry far more solvent or oil into a bore than any synthetic patch can. Soak up and carry far more crud and fouling out! Not the best but they work. (10/11/2010)

Not bad for the price. A lot of them were mis-cut so they were not perfect circles. Loose strands is also an issue. I'll use what I have but I wouldn't buy these again.

I used a different brand of cotton patches for years. Despite the one unhappy review for these patches, I decided to order a bunch (over $100.00). They are EXCELLENT! As good, or better than what I was using. I will definately order more in the future.Good for both rifles and pistols.

Like the "two sided" flannel texture (quality construction); like the size, exactly right when used with the proper jag. Do wish they were just a little bit denser weave (poor construction). OTOH, the looser weave leaves plenty of room for the oil/solvent of your choice. Regardless, they are an improvement over the bits of old tee shirts I was using before they arrived (though the 'rag bag' still has its uses).

These patches fit a .22 bore snugly and don't come apart like other patches. Round patches work much better in a .22 than square patches. I've tried many other patches and these are by far the best.

Best Patch for .223 AR-15 Barrels (5/18/2010)

These patches fit my .223 AR-15 barrels perfectly and don't come apart like the other patches I've used. I've tried several name brand patches that are supposed to fit .22 centerfire bores, but these are absolutely the best. You don't want a patch that's so loose it won't clean effectively, or so tight that it might get stuck. Thank you Brownells for providing such a high quality product!

Too big to a .22 jag push (3/9/2011)

Great patches but are too large for a proper push-through with a .22 jag. Better suited for loop-through ends and .223 and larger calibers.

The best patches (5/12/2017)

I prefer round patches on a jag. Even distribution as the rod goes through the bore makes for more uniform cleaning and oiling. These patches are soft, durable, and don't fray at the edges. My preferred patch, hands down!

Works great and doesn't come apart like other patches. Works perfectly when wrapped around the Parker Hale style jags. Won't be using any other patches.

Perfect Patch for .490 Round Ball (9/25/2019)

I have found this to be the perfect patch to use with .490 round ball in my .50 caliber Hawken Rifle. It loads easily but firmly, and shows the perfect trailing marks upon firing. Whenever I go to a competition, other shooters see the spent patch on the ground in front of my shooting position and inquire about it.

22-270 (1-1/4") Patches (1/20/2020)

These work great for 22lr, 223 or 22-250. The 7/8" square one's are junk compared to these. Use with a good jag and no worries.
