AR 10 bolt tool (7/5/2012)

Nicely made. I tried to use it on CMMG 308 bolt, the end that makes contact with the ejector is turned down to much, barely will catch ejector and causes it to be out of alignment, made my own screw by barely grinding off threads on end of a diiferent fine thread bolt, now makes good contact.

The AR10 bolt ejector tool is just that. A tool to install or remove the ejector for a 308 bolt. No more chacing springs and ejectors across the shop. This tool is a must if you plan on checking headspace. The 4 stars is for price after all this tool dose have a limited function.

Right Tool for Ejector Spring Change! (3/8/2017)

DOES A GREAT JOB! If you have a 7.62/.308 AR platform and need to replace your ejector or ejector spring, this IS the tool you need. Holds the bolt securely in place with the ejector retaining pin perpendicular to the bolt with either side up for easy removal. Has pin recesses so the pin can be removed easily.

Solid, well made and well engineered! Very easy to use! After messing around with a "homemade" solution for more than an hour with no success, I purchased this tool. Swapped the ejector springs on two bolts in less than 15 minutes with no headaches and no flying ejectors or springs.

This tool will ONLY work on the 7.62/.308 AR bolt. The screw head is sized slightly smaller than the base of a .308 casing to engage the ejector without touching the extractor.

Will NOT work on 5.56/.223 rifles, the screw head is too big.

A MUST HAVE TOOL (11/12/2019)

This tool locks the bolt in place and keeps it from moving. This prevents the bolt from moving when trying to remove the pin holding the ejector in place. I tried a similar tool that did not lock the bolt in place and ended up bending my 1/16 punch. This Young Mfg tool is a must have to check the headspace on a new build. I was amazed at how quick it made the job of removing the extractor and putting it back in place.

Yes, it works great to get the ejector out. Not so much getting it back in. The face of the tool doesnât have enough radius to compress the ejector back into the bolt in a linear fashion. The design is flawed in that perhaps the designer wanted to be able to use the tool without removing the extractor? So easy to do that. Increase the face of the tool and it would be fine. My negative experience was working with an Aero Precision.308 bolt. Sample size of 1. Maybe another mfr has an ejector that this tool works on putting the bolt back together. Do not have this problem with the .223 version...
