Front Sight Too High (17.12.2011)

These sights give a good view in the dark but the front sight is too high. If you use the circle on the top of the stick view your point of impact will be low. Also, the front sight will not fit in molded holsters. Wish XS Sights would correct this.

3-4in low (11.10.2012)

I was looking forward to using these sights, too bad they shoot 3-4 inches lower than the stock sight, not to happy with them. You would figure a company would to a little more R&D before releasing a product that just doesn't work!

SR9 Big Dot Sight Set (23.02.2014)

There are two reasons why this product does not receive a perfect score. First is the instructions and second is the set screws. The included instructions for rear sight installation states to slide the sight into the dovetail and minor fitting may be required. Tighten set screws and apply red thread locker. These instructions "imply" a loose fit. If you follow these instructions, the installation will not hold. The two very tiny set screws on this product are useless when compared to the relatively large set screw from the factory sight. And the thread locker is not sufficient to hold up to the repeated recoil if you have a loose fit. Anyone installing this site should apply the same procedure used for front sight installation and do not rely on the set screws. I had to purchase a second sight set and reinstall as a tighter fit so I was not happy for the additional expense.

Like the other reviewers, after installing the site I found the pistol shot 3-4 inches or more low at all distances when shot off-hand. The further the distance the lower the point of impact. The Big Dot sight requires a different sight picture and different sight alignment than a standard 3-dot; the instructions are clear on this. I followed the instructions for sight picture and sight alignment. Not wanting to conclude the sights were bad, I proceeded to carefully and slowly shoot off a sand bag at a distance of approximately 30 feet. In short, the pistol shot near bulls eye every time. I again shot off-hand and consistently shot low even though I used the new sight picture and sight alignment. It is clear the fault is not the sights but is the fault of the shooter. Whether you have perfect vision, bad eyes, bifocals, trifocals or whatever, there is learning curve which takes time to master. If you are not willing to re-learn and master your sight picture and sight alignment then don't purchase this product. If you are willing to learn, this is a very good sight system. The installation problems can be overcome. One reviewer also stated the new sight did not fit the sight track in his molded leather holster. I did not experience any issue.

Great sight (25.11.2014)

I was a little skeptical about this site with a lot of the negative reviews online. (I found good reviews also) I had these installed on my ruger SR9 that I use for IDPA matches. Went to the range and the sight was great. It was very fast to acquire at close range and accurate enough at 25 yards. The tritium is very bright and easy to see at night. Would recommend to anyone for self defense or practical shooting.

Not for an SR9c...at all (05.12.2016)

An acquaintance let me shoot his gun, not and SR9c, with these sights and I really liked them. Brownells had a great price and the support person was friendly.

However, my gunsmith at our club said that while he could get them on it would require some alteration as they were too tight a fit. Because it resulted in a noticeable scratch on my Ruger, he would not take money for the install. Shooting it on the range was the second problem. My friend, and the range officer, and I all shot three to five inches low consistently at 5 and 7 yards. It was obviously worse at 15 yards. The sites are not adjustable.

Perhaps this would work better on a longer gun, but this should not be sold for the SR9c.

Easy to get a good sight picture, GREAT! (21.11.2018)

It's been said many times before, but they are very easy to line up and get a great sight picture. The front sight is nice and bright and big and easy to line up with the rear sight. I went from the stock sites to TruGlo tf-x, to these because the left rear sight on the Truglo started to dim even in daylight. I would put these on any of my carry pieces. I had them installed by my local shop.

Some reviews have said they shoot low, I did not find that with my set. A picture is worth a thousand words. These are pictures from the first day at the range after getting them installed. I hope to improve on that. I was shooting at 30 feet.

11-19-18 Update

I've had a month shooting with these sites, love them. The picture with 15 targets is from 11/18/2018. I shot it at 30 feet, each of those targets is only 3 inches in diameter. Proof that you can shoot accurately with these sites. The few Flyers are just shooter error.
