Excellent Tool!(12/01/2014)
Gunsmiths are few and far between where I live and shipping a firearm is a pain. Purchased this tool primarily for Springfield Armory firearms...especially the XDs. Regarding the XDs: The front sight should be removed out of the left side of the slide (muzzle downrange), and the rear sight will come out the right side (again, muzzle downrange); visa versa for installation. Made short, easy work of replacing the factory sights on three XDs with aftermarket night sights. Only downside is that I have four other firearm-specific pushers that are now obsolete.
Fantastic Sight Tool(15/01/2014)
I have used MGW Sight pushers for a while and they were mostly adequate for the individual guns they were designed for, but this tool is the best sight pusher I've ever used. Beats the MGW individual tools and a certain $500+ Bench mounted mounted sight pusher hands down. If you change a lot of sights I strongly recommend this tool. Makes it a breeze to change sights even on the most stubborn of sights (i.e. Springfield XD).
Amazing!!!!!(05/04/2014)
This is an awesome tool. It makes removing the XD sights easy. Left no marks on the slide or the new sights. It's a must for anyone who has to install or remove sight very often. I have used it on Sig, Glock, Springfield XD and others with great results. Well worth the money.
Great sight tool!!(02/05/2014)
I bought this, the 30 degree block and a few of the bases to change sights out and I am extremely happily with it! It has saved me time and money since I no longer have to make a trip to a gunsmith to change out sights. I even use it at work. It is a quality tool and I highly recommend it.
As close to perfect as a pusher can get(17/06/2014)
I have moved/changed hundreds of sights using virtually every method and pusher imaginable including bench mounted units costing 2.5x the MGW Universal pusher. What a pleasure to use. Makes XD's and PX4's doable without worry of damage. The height adjustment feature is genius. If you regularly change sights and don't own this tool - Well, I'm sorry:-)
Best, most durable sight tool!(09/07/2014)
Having used many different brands of sight tools over the years, I knew that after trying out MGW's Main Sight Tool for the first time, I'd never need another.
If you've used earlier versions of MGW's sight tools, you'll find this one to be a quick study. Simple to use and exceptionally strong, it can easily handle even the most stubborn sights, ( XD, XDm, XDS ) without damaging anything on the pistol's slide.
It's especially perfect for gunsmiths. Our shop has been using it for a couple of months now and there hasn't been a job yet that it couldn't readily handle. A wide variety of slide shoes available at very low cost allows this tool to hold pretty much any contemporary semi-auto slide out there today.
The adjustment settings allow for a perfect and snug fit for each slide while it's held in place, without scratching or marking it. Removing, installing, adjusting.. this sight tool does it all and does it perfectly!
Awesome tool (09/09/2014)
I was using another sight tool to take off a XD-S front and rear sight and it cracked (broke). Not the sight the tool broke. âWowâ Yes the XDâs sights are very stubborn and hard to take off even if you use a brass punch and a hammer, you would probably damage the sight and or the slide or both. With this Universal Sight Pro Tool you would not have any problems, It would take it off like butter. And whats lovely about it is the tool may be a little in the high price range for some people but itâs well worth it. As a gunsmith Iâll make my money back in no time. Also donât need so many different sight tools for every firearms in the market just need to buy the boot for that firearm and its cheeper and less space on the wall or tool box.
Well engineered w/ room for improvement(24/09/2014)
Very well engineered!
A guy came in today to get sights replaced on his Ruger SR9C. (This shoe arrived just yesterday!)
First time out and I have a problem. The white plastic elevation adjustment block is too tall to allow me to get down to remove the factory sights. Had to machine about 1/8 inch off it to get at the sight base.
Also, the lock down knobs/nuts have no lead-in, so getting them started on the posts is subject to fumbling. I dropped mine twice! I machined a tapered lead and all's much better now. Unfortunately the threads are some odd extra-fine metric pitch, so cleaning up burrs & chips with a common tap is not possible. Minor thing. These knobs/nuts go on quick & easy upside down, though!
Very well engineered otherwise, though a bit difficult to get an eye on what one is doing. Way better than the cheap-o special I had before.
Superior engineering, very pleased!(13/10/2014)
The tool is built like a tank. If you use it as directed (watch the video on youtube) you will not damage your sights or the pistol on which you are installing or removing them. I too had the issue of the knob (which DOES protect your pistol's slide top) keeping the arms too high but 5 minutes of sanding (remove the white knob and the two washers that serve as a bearing surface for the thumb screw) the BASE of the knob and everything works exactly like it should on the Valor slide with low novak sight cuts. Do not mill or sand the bearing surface (that which rests on your slide) of the knob! The base can be reduced and no one is the wiser once you've reinstalled it! George was very patient and instructive and I appreciate his customer service skills. I am glad I didn't try a lesser model/make of sight tool. Pay once, cry once! You will not be sorry.
Irreplaceable Tool(14/01/2015)
Hands down the finest universal sight tool. Much more expensive than the other options, but if you are changing sights often you will get over that instantly. They say "pay me now or pay me later." Don't waste your money on the others. Buy just one. And this is the one. No marring, easily adjustable and professional results.
Seriously solidly engineered(11/02/2015)
I had to wait a while to get the tool and all the required extra parts but it was worthwhile. It is very solidly made and provides a secure base for working on slides. I had to get the additional 30 degree pusher and the HK slide clamp since my first change was to put Dead Ringer Snake Eyes sights on an HK VP9. All this came to about $450. And there is additional expense for other pistols - extra cost and possible out-of-stock downsides. The original sights came off slick as can be and installing the front sight was easy. I ran into a problem installing the rear sight though. The pusher engaged the sight ring which is offset from the dovetail by about 0.3 inches. It looked like the resulting torque was going to either break the sight or mess up the installation. There was not enough flexibility with the tool to directly engage the slim dovetail. So I had to finish with a drift punch using the bottom part of the tool to hold the slide. It turned out fine and my old eyes really like the ring sight better. If I had to do this a lot, I would drill a hole in the bottom of the pusher to install a pin to engage the dovetail directly. Bottom line, this is an expensive tool but works well and my son will appreciate it when he gets it.
Ok, Ive tried them all. They all have some pro's and a lot of cons. But this tool is just to easy to use. The fit and finish is of a high end professional tool. It's the engineering that makes this tool very easy to setup and use. Don't waste any money on anything else. If you plan to put on or adjust more than one sight, bite the bullet and get this tool. Ive tried, Glock's, 1911's, Springfields XD and Sig's. All were super easy to do, and a pain of a job is now just fun.
Right tool for the job(09/12/2015)
I've used this tool to change the sights on Glocks, 1911's, XDS, and SW Shields. This pusher is simple to use and does not leave any mars on the slide. I once tried to get away with a brass drift and a hammer to remove the front sight on my Shield. It wasn't pretty. Invest in this tool and you won't be disappointed.
Excellent tool!(27/04/2016)
After talking with MGW, I ordered this model because it is the only one that would work for front and rear sights on my 5" M&P Pro.
The tool is much heavier and larger than I ever would have expected. Its a beast! Simple to use and worked like a charm.
I am pretty sure that the unit I received had been previously used, as it had grease smeared across it in several locations, and the slide support pads had been installed even though the instructions state that they would come disassembled. Not the end of the world as the item still worked as intended, but I wonder if someone used it and returned it to save the 300.
Love It!(06/09/2016)
Love this thing! When you pick it up, it is apparent how well built it is. Buy once, cry once!
The perfect sight pusher(27/09/2016)
This thing is great. It was a breeze changing the sights on my Glock 43 using this tool. I can't recommend it enough. The tool looks complicated at first, but once you watch the YouTube videos posted by the manufacturer, it becomes very easy to understand. Works with just about any semi auto ever made. The main tool may be a little pricey, but when compared with what you would pay for one-off sight pushers that only work with one make of gun (that you might never use again), this tool is a no-brainer, because with this you are buying one tool that can work with all your guns.
Excellent tool(12/11/2016)
The tool worked like a charm with my first job on a SIG P320. Itâs extremely well designed and engineered to help prevent all the common problems often encountered with changing sights. Because itâs a large and robust universal tool, itâs somewhat cumbersome to operate by holding it in hand, but it can be clamped into a vise if desired. I was concerned that all the screws and knobs would make it fiddly to set up and use, but after watching MGWâs video and a little practice, things went smoothly. My only complaint was that finding the proper video was a little tricky and MGWâs home is evidently only through a social media site which is a nuisance for people not interested in becoming members there (and thatâs a lot of us). Brownells should either host the video or at least provide a link.
GREAT tool!(09/12/2016)
This is a great tool to have in the box. Instructions are clear. Tool is easy to use, and performed the job perfectly!
Great Tool(16/12/2016)
Great tool for replacing sights on many pistols. I bought this tool and have had no problems with it. It does everything that they advertise.
Making me a better shot(22/12/2016)
About a month ago, I decided I wanted to upgrade my front sights on both of my M&Ps and also adjust all four of my pistols for exact centering. I figured this would entail a lot of trips to my lgs, so I opted for this wonderful device. When you pay for quality, you know the difference the first time you use it. I had to watch the video to fully understand the operation. But I've used it now 4 times and it is one of the most rock-solid tools I own. Someone at that company has a lot of engineering smarts!
Great sight tool(24/12/2016)
Simple to use, a bit of an investment but worth it to be able to take care of my sights without relying on someone else. So far I've used it on a P320, shield and G17 and it worked perfectly for each one.
Great product(02/01/2017)
This is one of the most well made tools I have ever purchased. Excellent design. Easy to learn to use. VERY VERSATILE. The pistol specific shoes are about $18. I am not a professional gunsmith but this can certainly allow you to install sights professionally.
excellent product!(07/01/2017)
bought this to install sights on my Sig 226 and it worked flawlessly! I have since used this on a glock with equally good results. Great instructions, Great product!
Best Universal Sight tool on the market(09/01/2017)
This sight press does a great job at moving or removing sights and installing them. An adapter or a shoe as it is called is needed for the specific gun that is being worked to hold it securely in place. Once the top slide is locked in you can easily remove the sights. I must admit the Sig sights are held in tight but the Sight pro did remove them with some effort. Overall I am happy with the purchase, I also bought almost all the shoes and wished that they sold a complete set at a discount should the buyer wished to do so. I bought a Universal carry case from another website to hold the press and a small tack bx for the shoes. Thanks MGW for the quality tool !!
This sight installation and removal tool is a BEAST. Very robust and well made. It is expensive but IMO, worth every penny. Wish I had started out with this tool and saved myself a bunch of headaches!
This is the one to rule them all(23/01/2017)
I love this thing finally a pusher that can handle the hard stuff like Kahr & XD. The one thing I wish it had was a single blade adapter to push on the mos sight bases. Outside of that it is worth every penny especially when you work on as many different types of pistols as I do. In the long run this is actually the cheapest way to go if you need to work on several brands of firearms. This thing has never even bogged down like others. Even if I have to use a cheater bar (which is rarely) this has never scratched a frame. WHAT A TIME SAVER, THANKS BROWNELLS!
Did not work with some sights(03/03/2017)
Bought several inserts so as to be able to deal with multiple pistols. Was impossible to remove sight on XDs - had to take to a shop. Need to move rear sight on Colt 9mm 1911 Commander and the tool just could not budge the sight - yes, set-screw was removed from the sight and lots of oil used. The 1911 insert (105) needs to be about 1 mm taller so that pusher can get better purchase on the sight. The tool is built-like-a-tank. However, after applying max torque by hand I did not wish to add length to pusher's rod for fear that threads would be damaged.
I do not understand why I am 2 for 2 failures with this expensive, apparently well designed, tool.
This is the best!(04/05/2017)
Very easy to figure out how to use this. It comes with a detailed CD that explains all you need to know. It really is built like a tank. I have tried less expensive ones and I'm glad I found this jewel! If you want a sight tool, get this one. You really do get what you pay for.
Best tool I have ever bought(24/05/2017)
This thing is worth every bit I paid! It's heavy duty and grabs the slide tighter than any sight pusher I have ever used !!!
WORTH THE MONEY(10/06/2017)
As a shooter and hobbyist gunsmith, machinist and metal fabricator, I'm very impressed with the quality and versatility of this tool.
If you anticipate only ever changing sights on one gun and don't want to spend the money, you might rather buy the MGW model-specific tool but if you have several different guns to work on, and can afford to buy the Sight Pro, the purchase will be money well spent.
Great Sturdy Precision Tool!(04/09/2017)
Got this tool after trying to beat the stock sights out of my M&P Shield with a punch and hammer. They would not budge (at all). This press made quick work of them. I still tapped on the rear sight occasionally while using the press. I would stop and slightly tap it with a brass tap. It would knock it forward when it was tapped. Don't know if this was exactly necessary but it was stuck on there and it seemed to help it out. Make sure for the Shield that you remove the sight toward the ejection port side of the slide and install from that same side. That is at least the word I heard from the research I did. Also, clamp the press in a vise for easier cranking. I plan on using this on all my semi auto handguns. FN, Glock, S&W...
This thing is heavy duty and precision made. Compared to the Glock rear sight tool, well there is no comparison, but Glock sights come right out though so it doesn't need to be beefy... This definitely seems like a tool that will out last the user.
Watch the MGW video on YouTube to get a quick overview on how to use it.
BTW, I don't usually write reviews, but this is a really great product and I felt compelled by how well it worked.
A Must Have!!(21/11/2017)
I purchased this sight-push over a year ago along with a lot of the needed shoes, I would recommend this as a must have for a gunsmith shop! I have found this tool to be quite useful and works exceptionally well with all of the different sights I have had to swap out for customers. Very little to no marring on the sights when finished.
Questionable user?(04/04/2018)
After receiving and assembling, reading the instructions completely, I attempted to remove the rear sight from my Colt Government model 1091. It did not move at all, in either direction. I would have needed to use a cheater bar on the T handle to continue, and the instructions are specific not to ever use, instead use a hammer and punch. The tool is very well made and instructions are accurate for assembly and operations, but I cannot speak as to whether or not the tool actually works.
Most versitile sight mover(14/08/2018)
This tool, with the appropriate attachments, make removing and installing sights on a pistol about as easy as the job can be. The build quality is top notch, and should last a few lifetimes with proper care.
Versatile, easy to use(21/09/2018)
Just received the product and I am quite impressed with the build quality. Everything is nicely machined and finished. Screws and threads are heavy duty and smooth. Product comes with additional accessories - a separate sight pusher for sights that have 30 degree slanted sides that can be easily swapped out; it also comes with plastic spacers designed to go between the slide clamps and your slide to prevent damage to your slide. The rig is also designed to be used with a bench vise, but a vise is not necessary to use the product.
Product is easy to use and comes with concise instructions; there is also an excellent YouTube video that clearly explains use of the product.
The up front cost may not be worth it if you only need it for one brand of handgun, but if you need to change out or adjust sights for multiple brands, this product is a far better value than purchasing separate sight tools for each brand. MGW sells brand specific slide shoes that fit into this tool; they cost about $20 each.
Overall very impressed with the product. The night I received it, I had a front sight on my Beretta PX4 adjusted in a matter of minutes. Highly recommend to anyone who needs a single tool for multiple handgun brands.
Classic old fashion American engineering(31/10/2018)
This is an amazingly well made solid piece of equipment. I highly recommend that you check out the youtube videos (search for MGWINC). These video fully explain the operation of this device.
It comes with both the straight (90 degree) and the glock (30 degree) top adjuster. You need the 30 degree adjuster for night sights or other sights that are canted at the top.
The only possible con is that you do not want to drop it on your foot. Other than that, if you need a sight adjuster and don't mind paying for quality, then this is the model to purchase.
Well worth it(04/12/2018)
Well worth the money if you will use it a lot. I'm a gunsmith and I now have almost all the shoes they make for it. It not only works well, but try and find a good sight pusher for all the different guns they make shoes for that fit this one.
Better than ruining fiber optic sights(31/12/2018)
There are many old school smiths out there that can replace sights with a hammer and punch, but that doesn't work well with fiber optic sights. This tool makes replacing sights on a pistol, a less than a 30 minute job usually. This tool will pay for itself if you need to replace 5 - 6 sights over a few years.
True American Quality!(27/02/2019)
Wow!! What an amazing piece of American craftsmanship and manufacturing! Seriously, this is a high quality tool that was thought through to every last detail on how it functions. Best of all, it's an easy tool to use. Go watch the MGW videos on YouTube before you buy, and you will see just how easy it is. As soon as I received the tool, I made some adjustments to my Vickers Glock that came from Lipsey's with the rear sight off center. Easy fix with the MGW sight tool. I'm very happy with my purchase, and I'm sure some have not bought it because of it's price point. I can tell you now, to go ahead and buy it because you will not be disappointed. I too contemplated for a while on making the decision to purchase, but I couldn't be happier. This tool will allow you to install new sights on practically any handgun that needs them, and makes it very simple to do so.
Best sight tool yet(29/03/2019)
I have uses some other "universal" tools and they were a waste of money, always disappointed. Glad I broke down and got this one when it was on sale, as it is now, even ten bucks less than when I got mine. If you have multiple guns, or do work for a lot of buddies, this is the tool for you, you wont be disappointed, worth every cent. It fits around slides like a glove, providing support not just to the outside of the slide, but to the interior rails as well.
Completely adjustable for most popular handguns, and yes, it moves front sights as well. All you need for each gun is the separate shoe, and they make a lot of them. The shoes are relatively inexpensive. Just used the 1911 shoe for a Para slide, and it got the job done quickly.
This pusher is built like a tank, and it can be clamped into a bench vise. It is a very nice, precision built, piece of equipment I am proud to own. This is perfect for the gun shop, or the enthusiast that likes to own the best.
5 stars right out of the box before use.(18/05/2019)
This product is so well engineered it's easy to see right out of the box it will work well and not cause any damage to the slides being worked on. This product is what you want if your'e looking for a quality well engineered and safe sight pusher. This product is a bit more expensive than the run of the mill pushers but you get what you pay for. Don't waste money trying to find the least expensive pusher out there that has all of the atributes of the Sight Pro because it isn't out there. This thing is top of the line and at a reasonable price for what you're getting. As a person who'se spent many years working with tools I would be willing to stake my reputation on the fitness of the sight pro for the job before even using it. Well done MGW! And no, I don't work for MGW in any way shape or form. I just like to see credit given where credit is due.
Handles even PX4 sights no problem!(21/05/2019)
This is one heavy duty tool that had no problem at all handling some of the most difficult sights, one of which is the Beretta Storm Compact. These sights are factory pressed and are very tightly fit to be sure. The MGW Sight Pro worked great creating a tremendous amount of pressure to preload the sight, then simply take a brass drift punch and a hammer and tap the sight pusher block, and you can easily tighten the handle a half turn to preload the sight again, the tap it again and once it starts moving it presses right out. No need to over torque the tool, just do it smart. Suggest using one of the nylon pads to protect the pusher block before using a brass drift punch.
Pressing in a new set of Ameriglo night sights was a piece of cake, and you can get them perfectly aligned, go too far, simply push them back a little. Very easy to fine tune your sight adjustments as the tool has very fine threads and it is easy to make very small changes.
Not a mark on the sights or the slide. The nylon pads work great to protect everything. This is just a well engineered and beautifully machined tool made in the USA, and worth every penny.
Fantastic Pusher(25/05/2019)
I debated buying this for a long time - I have used punches and vice like units in the past and always had various results some good, some bad and it always seemed to be on the XD front sights... So far I have done a couple Glock rears (easiest IMHO), 1911 and a couple Springfield XD. This thing cradles the slide perfectly - with the little no mar pads and proper set up the front sights 'popped' (you will understand if you have done them) it is like an audible 'snap' you may panic and inspect quickly thinking you broke the slide but it is just the XD releasing its captive front sight. I have a few more to do this weekend but so far this has been the best tool. I purchased this model as I have several of the longer slides come in and wanted to be able to service those (has cutout for positioning long slides for front sight removal). I picked up a handful of shoes Glock, XD, XDs, 1911 and will grab a few more to round out the setup. Great tool so far - might be overkill for the average user but the MGW main is solid.
Nice Machining Rough Finish(31/05/2019)
This sight tool is a well thought out design and is machine nicely. The one I received is with the newer updated nature/gray finish. This finish is supposedly an improvement over the previous anodized black. I am not sure if I just received one with a rough finish or this is the new norm. I have no doubt the tool will work as intended but would of liked the finish to be better.
Man, why did I wait so long to buy one these? I've tried nearly all of the other brands over the years and the MGW sight tools have been absolutely the best. I started with one of their "gun specific" tools and that should have woke me up. Anyway, the design and manufacturing qualities are top notch. Customer service is great. Yeah, they're a bit pricey but well worth it.
Doesn't Get Better Than This(24/07/2019)
This tool is simply awesome. If you use it correctly there is no better way to change your sights. It worked perfectly on my S&W Shield and Sig P320. The MGW Sight Pro is absolutely nothing like those cheap and flimsy universal sight pushers. This is a professional tool designed and built to perform perfectly for years. The machining, fit and finish is outstanding. You'll know what I mean when you hold one in your hands. I couldn't be happier. The best part is you can take it to the range with you and make small adjustments to get a perfect zero when shooting from a bench.
The Best!!!(04/09/2019)
I am a gunsmith and it is very important that I have a reliable tool to insure that I can get the job done correctly and without damage to my customer's guns. This tool with the correct slide adapter is the only way to go.
This thing is awesome(29/09/2019)
so far just put some nite sights on my glock 23 this tool made the job so easy, don't have a vise so had to kinda wrestle with it, but all in all I love this tool and will last a long time to come
Strong & Sure(03/10/2019)
I recently purchased this and used it to install sights on an M&P 2.0. The factory rear sight took heavy drifting to remove while holding the slide in a vice with brass jaw covers. I did not want to hammer that hard on the new slide again, so I purchased this tool to install the new set. After filing the new sight to start close to the same distance into the dovetail by hand as the removed sight, I pushed it home with this tool until it was centered to the slide. I worked smoothly even though the new sight installation took much pressure.
When I took the pistol to the range, it shot ~2" left at 20 yards. This tool allowed me to adjust the rear sight and zero the sights on the spot with no other tool.
The only con is the price, however, I do not regret buying it.
As good as they say it is(11/11/2019)
I changed the sights on two Sigs, two H & Ks and one Glock. The tool worked perfectly. I watched the company;s video on how to use the tool and then cranked out all 5 guns in about an hour. Tool is very well made, appears to be finely machined, very strong. If youâre planning on changing your own sights this is a great addition to the bench. Itâs portable enough that I took it to the range with me and made adjustments to get them sighted in.
Complicated(09/03/2020)
My only complaint would be having to have the different shoes for different guns
MGW Sight Pro(23/03/2020)
Worked perfectly, to change the front/rear sights on a Beretta 92X and Colt 1911 XSE. The Sight Pro is very solid and well built. It safely and securely holds the slide in place and prevents the risk of marring the sides.
MGW Sight Pro Tool 2019 Edition(04/04/2020)
Used to complete a Remington RP9 stripped slide. Used slide shoe for Remington RP45, #154. Interchanges with RP9 slide. Used optional extra cost "low mount pusher block". Regular pusher block was too high. Adjusted right down to contact dovetail part of sights. Watch MGW YouTube 2016 video to adjust large white Delrin pad. Key to success. Used grease type lubricant on turning screw and dovetail cuts to ease sight moving effort. Oil drips off screw. Not helpful. Rear sight was hard to move. Needed padded leather gloves and mounted Sight Pro in vise. Handle seems too short and skinny. Screw seems too small, inadequate for some sights. Like XD pistol sights. Need a heat gun and penetrating oil for these. Did the job on RP9 slide anyway. Be aware of these tool quirks. Solid 4 stars. MGW needs a new, more powerful model.
The Best(09/04/2020)
Less expensive tools I tried were junk. So I watched a few YouTube videos and decided I liked the logical design. This unit works perfectly as long as you watch the manufacturers video to understand how everything adjusts to the task at hand. I give my absolute highest recommendation for this sight tool. You will be happy with this one!
The sight tool to have!!!!!(06/05/2020)
So easy to do the job right with this thing. Yeah I know it's 300 bucks but when a gun shop charges ya 75 to 100 bucks for install of sights you didn't buy at there shop it don't take long to pay off in my mind. Adjusting sights at the range instead of shoot take target to store adjust go back shoot so much nicer. Bite the bullet if you have a good collection.
Better Than P500(08/06/2020)
I started out with a P500 sight tool; it worked ok, but I discovered some serious limitations. First and foremost, slides that didn't have parallel sides had a tendency to rotate, no matter how tight I tried to get the slide clamps. I eventually figured out how to remedy this by clamping the top of the slide to the bottom of the pusher frame using a C-clamp and a piece of leather between the clamp and slide (it appears the updated P500 Pro has a fix for this problem). The other big issue I had was that the pusher screw had a tendency to drift upwards, as it was only attached on one side (meaning the pusher usually wasn't pushing 100% parallel with the top of the slide). This resulted in the shaft of the pusher screw breaking, followed by both the round and square heads breaking. I then purchased the Sight Pro, as my P500 was useless at that point. I was initially annoyed at having to purchase different slide shoe clamps for different guns, but now that I've seen how it works, I'm ok with it. The slide is supported on all four sides - I don't see how it could possibly twist/rotate in the tool. Additionally, the pusher screw is supported on both sides, so it is always pushing parallel to the top of the slide. I have changed the sights on an M&P9 Shield and adjusted the rear sight on my Kimber 1911, and both jobs went smoothly.
