Our bolt disassembly tool makes removing the firing pin, spring and shroud assembly from the bolt body an easy task. This tool fits the 40X, 600, 660, Model, 7, XP-100, 700, 721, XR-100 and 722 actions plus the Kelbly Stolle actions. Does not work for 40X rimfire actions. This tool is designed to pull back and hold the cocking piece as the shroud, pin and spring assembly is unscrewed from the bolt body. This needs to be done to clean the assembly and apply new light oil several times a year. The bolt should also be disassembled and inspected if a primer cup may need to be removed from the bolt body. The tool has a non-marring Delrin body and is very easy and fast to use. Most competitive shooters carry a bolt tool for their action to every match.

Works great on Remington 700, not HS P(13.07.2010)
Works as advertised on the Remington 700, for which it was designed. Stays in my tool box, goes to the range, and makes deep cleaning easy. While not designed for the similar HS Precision bolt action, it would have been nice if it worked on the HS Precision long magnum bolt, but it does not as the bolt shroud on the HS P is larger than the Rem 700's and the inside diameter of the tool is too small for the larger HS Precision shroud.
Excellent tool(31.10.2010)
Well made and simple to use. What more can be said. Makes an otherwise difficult job very easy.
Nice addition to the toolbox.(11.11.2012)
There's the Remington recommended flat piece of metal, coin in slot, and pull method. Then there's this tool. Seriously, it's not a hard choice, just buy this tool. It takes longer to get the tool out of the cardboard tube it comes in, than to disassemble the bolt.
Buy it and the Main spring tool(07.02.2013)
Works better than the dime in a vise method of Bolt dissembly on the Remington 700s. Thats what I purchased it for and it saves so much time and safer to work with. Easy to use, makes bolt assembly fast and fun, and used with Sinclairs mainspring tool it makes changing out the firing pin assembly or spring easy, safe and quick.
Piece of cake with this tool.(06.05.2017)
Until I saw this great tool, I use to take the bolt apart the old way...using the gun vise and pulling back the underside and sticking a dime in the slot. This is the procedure Remington suggested we use to take the bolt apart. When I saw this product listed in Brownell's web site, I jumped at the opportunity to purchase it. It only took minutes to take the bolt apart, seconds if you work quickly. I highly recommend this product. No worry about the dime coming ever again!
Every Rem 700 owner should have one. (09.11.2019)
If you own a Rem 700 you need to have a tool to remove the firing pin for periodic cleaning. Yes there is the shoe lace method. Good luck with that. Thing is most shooters would be shocked at how much powder crud builds up in a bolt after 500 rounds or so. Or the rust after years of storage in a closet. Then built up oils will congeal in extreme cold while hunting to slow your firing pin causing a misfire. Bolt needs to be disassembled for cleaning on a regular basis. With this tool in your kit it's simple. If you own a Remington M700 you simply need one of these tools. Or have a friend with one. To change out main spring you need another tool but that's a gunsmith repair. I've owned one of these Sinclair tools for over three decades. Not a tool you'll ever wear out.
Must have(11.03.2020)
I build bolt action rifles for a living. Iâve used one for these for eight years. I prefer them over the lever style. Just ordered up a second one even though the first one still work perfectly after 100s of uses.
Good tool for the job(01.06.2020)
Admittedly I hesitated in spending the money on this when there are tricks you can use to remove the firing pin without it. Iâm glad I did get it though. The first time I used this it was so easy I was immediately glad I got it. I remove my firing pin and ejector somewhat regularly to measure distance to the lands and for cleaning so the frequency of use makes it worth it for me.
